It's well known that the upcoming Flash movie, currently slated for a 2022 release, will partially adapt the famous Flashpoint storyline, and soon thereafter it was revealed that both Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton will be appearing in the film as alternate iterations of Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Many fans are assuming that Affleck's role in the film, which is said to be a substantial supporting part, will effectively be a swan song for his tenure as the character - an attempt to finally give Affleck, who was terrific as the Dark Knight in a pair of mediocre movies, a vehicle befitting his efforts.

But given that this will most certainly be Affleck's final time donning the cowl, it also feels apt that his Batman will probably end up dying by film's end, whether to save Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) or somehow resolve the film's central timeline collision.

It's possible "Batfleck" survives but simply retires, of course, but considering that Affleck's role in the film has been called "emotional" by director Andy Muschietti, it's easy to believe he'll sacrifice himself to save the day.
