10 Insane Storyboards That Were Too Extreme For The Batman Movies
10. Harvey Dent's Skin Melting (The Dark Knight)
The Concept: Artist Rob Bliss was commissioned to create designs for numerous villains in The Dark Knight, and particularly striking is his rendition of Harvey Dent during his transformation into Two-Face. The Joker's explosive trap melts the skin away from half of Dent's body, while Bats runs in to rescue him in the background. Why It's Too Extreme: For a PG-13 movie, this is just too grotesque. Granted, Nolan got away with a lot in the Dark Knight, considering the gnarly final design of Aaron Eckhart's tragic District Attorney, yet the actual scene of Dent's accident understandably doesn't linger on the searing flesh and smoke emanating from his charred skin as depicted in this image. Would it have looked totally cool in an R-rated Dark Knight? Absolutely. But was that ever going to happen? Absolutely not.
