10 Insufferable Rom-Com Leads That Don't Deserve Love

OK, on the surface, Alex is kind of a catch. He's a handsome Frenchman who, like Ryan Gosling, can reenact move-for-move certain key dance sequences from Dirty Dancing. But then you find out what his job is, and that quite frankly is a dealbreaker. Alex and his sister are hired by rich people to break up the relationships of their friends and family.

So say you're a wealthy father whose daughter is in danger of falling in love with an unsuitable match, you would hire Alex and he would swoop in with his bag of tricks to throw a wrench in the works.

On the whole, any man whose entire career is based around lies and manipulation is probably someone you should avoid in a romantic context (possible exception: handsome international spies, because they lie for Queen and country, and come on, we're only human).

Alex, however, is not a sexy international spy, just kind of a jerk who kills happiness for money and doesn't seem to feel bad about it at all, except for the one time where he happened to fall in love with his mark.
