Over the course of his career, Sir Patrick Stewart has amassed a loyal and dedicated fanbase who have loved him for his time on Star Trek, the X-Men franchise or his work in theatre. It's very hard to picture him in any sinister way because a large number of his roles have been passive or heroic.

In Green Room, Patrick Stewart plays Darcy, the head of a small town Neo-Nazi outfit. Darcy is a character who commands a horde of idealistic, young skinheads who do his bidding at the snap of his fingers. From the moment he arrives on screen, there's a chill to the way his deep, almost harmonic baritone voice is flipped to be something we could associate with danger.

What makes this performance so jarring is more to do with the public persona of Sir Patrick Stewart.

Fans weren't ready for a role like this. His characters of Picard and Professor X were diplomatic, open-minded and empathetic characters, and while we know playing roles like these would be part of his job, it's still tense to see him play a character so casually evil.

I overthink a lot of things. Will talk about pretty much anything for a great length of time. I'm obsessed with General Slocum from the 2002 Spider-Man film. I have questions that were never answered in that entire trilogy!
