10 Intense Movies That Captivated The Hell Out Of You
7. Good Time
Robert Pattinson is best known, perhaps, for his work in the rather terrible Twilight films - and yet since he left that admittedly awful saga behind he has quickly become one of the best actors of his generation.
For proof, watch Good Time, last year's frankly bizarre and almost aggressively intense thriller, which saw Pattison as a petty criminal who - after a crime gone wrong - attempts to rescue his mentally-challenged brother.
To reveal any more of the story would spoil the surprise, but Good Time is that rare flick that refuses to bow to convention. It's genuinely impossible to guess what is going to happen next, as the plot goes off on little tangents that feel realistic, almost as though the narrative has been hi-jacked by that thing we call "real life."
As a result, Good Time powers forwards with an unrelenting sense of chaos. As things go from bad to worse (and even worse) for Pattinson's unlucky thief, you're committed to his aim. And given that the film runs at a mere 85 minutes, barely stops moving, and has one of the most intense musical scores in recent years, this retro gem manages to enthral from its hyper start to its dark, gloomy conclusion.
