4. Insanity Wolf
Cinematic equivalent: Dr. Gonzo (Benecio Del Toro) in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas Insanity Wolf is another example of a mutated meme. It begun with the motivational Courage Wolf, and then, instead of having its premise inverted, as in Scumbag Steve and Good Guy Greg, the joke was taken even further. So that, instead of advising its readers to simply be bold in the face of adversity, it advises readers to throw acid in the face of adversity, then march around with the head of adversity on a stick. Needless to say, Insanity Wolf is a questionable, if impassioned influence. One of cinemas great terrible mentors is Dr. Gonzo in Fear in Loathing in Las Vegas, lawyer and partner in (literal) crime to Raoul Duke. Hes the anti-Jiminy Cricket, willfully leading his Pinocchio to Pleasure Island, whereupon partaking in a potent concoction of drinking, drugs and statutory rape. He is also different than Jiminy Cricket in that Jiminy Cricket didnt bring a knife with him in the bathtub.
