3. College Liberal
Cinematic equivalent: LN (Maggie Ghyllenhaal) in Away We Go College Liberal is a quite recent meme, a jibe at the contradictions of young, left-wing intelligentsia. Personified in the film Away We Go by college professor LN (as in, inane spelling of Ellen). She breastfeeds her son at an age when its becoming a little creepy and sees strollers as a form of child abuse. She makes you take your shoes off in her house. She says things like having experienced childbirth...I watch CNN and really feel like I understand war". She calls Mentos Myntos (probably). The portrayal is a little mocking, but playful enough not to be mean-spirited. The film doesnt so much deride her beliefs, as much as it does her personality: shes just sort of a condescending, pretentious person.
