With the caliber of actors so high in the Red films it was going to take something special to draw focus from the oldies, but enter Lee Byung-hun as globe-trotting assassin Han Cho-Bai. Every moment he spends on screen is a joy to watch as he brings legitimate martial arts credentials to the table, which was exactly what the second film needed and allowed the whole 'retired' agent jokes to remain fresh while wowing viewers with slickly choreographed sequences. Han Cho-Bai is introduced as an agent turned assassin after being betrayed by Frank Moses (Bruce Willis). He's out for revenge and is brought into the fold under the employ of Jack Horton (Neal McDonough) to find and eliminate the group of pensioners who everyone mistakenly thinks are trying to start World War III. Springing from a jeep with a Gatling-Gun, destroying a shop with his bare hands and somehow managing to look cooler than Bruce Willis while doing so are just a few of the gifts Han Cho-Bai gives the audience. Hopefully, he will appear in the inevitable third film, as his easy rapport with the main cast and established action chops make it a no brainer.
