Release date: November 7th As producer on the aforementioned Transcendence, Christopher Nolan already has one big sci-fi movie coming out in 2014, but Interstellar offers an even greater possibility of success. After the project germinated for six years with Steven Spielberg attached to direct, Nolan, whose brother Jonah wrote the script, was hired as director last year. Lead actor Matthew McConaughey is going through something of an incredible career renaissance at the moment. Having spent years in charmless rom-coms opposite the likes of Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker, McConaughey has re-invented himself as an actor of considerable talent and range, in the last two years appearing in acclaimed performances in Bernie, Mud, Killer Joe, Magic Mike, Dallas Buyers Club and currently in The Wolf of Wall Street. The story, based on theoretical physicist Kip Thorne's ideas about wormhole travel, is rumoured to involve the warping of time and space, time travel and alternate universes. All of that, however, is pure speculation as Nolan is one of those directors who love to keep their cards close to their chest. The recently released trailer was more of a mood piece than something plot revealing, but it did show that Nolan's film, shot once again in IMAX, will look amazing.
