10 Intriguing Star Wars Rogue One Trailer Moments That Weren't In The Movie

7. TIE Fighter Vs. Jyn

Scenes from the trailers not making it into the movie is an inevitable occurrence for productions of all shapes and sizes, but it's incredibly disappointing when the material in question looks plain awesome.

Case in point: Jyn Erso, blaster in hand, limping toward the edge of the platform while a TIE fighter hangs ominously in the air in front of her. It looks like an enticing moment and it's a shame we'll never get to see it play out, but it does make sense that a shot like this was cut.

Obviously, the fighter does not kill Jyn, and it's likely shot down by a Rebel pilot, just before it can pull the trigger. Thing is, this exact scenario - a person about to be blown to pieces by an enemy machine, only to be saved by a Rebel pilot - just played out moments before, when the AT-AT was shot by the X-Wings.

So, for the sake of avoiding repetition, this one had to go.

Plus, it may have felt a little tiring for obstacle after obstacle to be placed in the path of our heroes. They're already navigating the shield, they just had to climb and get the plans by hand, they fought Krennic, and re-aligned the dish - anything else would have just felt like overkill.
