10 Irresistible Quentin Tarantino Spin-Offs That Definitely Deserve To Be Made

2. King Schultz

€œSo as I see it, when it comes to the subject of what to do next, you gentlemen have two choices. One: once I'm gone, you could lift that beast off the remaining Speck, then carry him to the nearest town. Which would be at least 37 miles back the way you came. Or two: You could unshackle yourselves, take that rifle, put a bullet in his head, bury the two of them deep, and then make your way to a more enlightened area of this country. The choice is yours. Oh, and on the off-chance there are any astronomy aficionados amongst you, the North Star is that one. Tata!€

Who? Dr. King Schultz, played by Christoph Waltz, in Django Unchained. A German dentist turned bounty hunter, Schultz is the man who not only gives former slave Django his freedom, but also trains him how to be €œthe fastest gun in the south.€ He exudes charm and culture, but meets his unfortunate demise after he kills Calvin Candie. But there€™s a lot of untapped potential in Schultz€™s story. What brought a German to pre-Civil War America? What turned him from a dentist into a bounty hunter? There are a lot of places where you could go with that. Tarantino has made no secret of his love of spaghetti westerns, which makes it a bit surprising why it took him so long to make one of his own. I€™d love to see another one showing us how Schultz became the man we see at the beginning of Django Unchained. Likelihood? There€™s a chance. Tarantino has talked about how he might like to make another western set in the universe he established in Django Unchained. But he talked about mostly using the same themes, but with different characters. That would mean no prequel where Waltz reprises his role as Schultz. But if Tarantino does want to make another western, doing one focused on Schultz would be the way to go.
