10 James Bond Villains With The Most Sinister Plans

3. Max Zorin - Massacre To Monopolisation (A View To A Kill)

There are many legitimate ways of keeping ahead of your business competition. Of course, no decent Bond villain has any business, so to speak, following such pedantic practices.

Take your leading industrialist Max Zorin. A genetically engineered psychopath with Nazi and KGB influences, who plans to take absolute control of the lucrative microchip market by removing the "one obstacle" in his way: Silicon Valley.

Now, we know Bond villains have a happy habit of cockily/carelessly revealing their evil schemes, and Zorin, albeit unintentionally, leaves Bond and Stacey Sutton a trail of very helpful breadcrumbs at the Main Strike Mine: an unlocked door marked 'NO UNAUTHORISED PERSONNEL', behind which something clearly TOP SECRET is covered up. Cue dramatic incidental music telling us she's unveiled something big followed by her explanation of Zorin's plan to cause a catastrophic earthquake, thus submerging Silicon Valley forever and killing millions of people.

Like all staunch anti-communists on the cusp of inflicting "the greatest cataclysm in history", Zorin is ruthlessly hands-on: overseeing those all-important final checks at his oil pumping station ahead of Project Main Strike, and brutally disposing of a KGB agent intent on sabotage; setting off the big bad booby-trapped bomb atop a helluva lot of dynamite, and then dastardly double-crossing his hardworking workforce by gleefully gunning them down.

Zorin Industries' loyalty bonus scheme clearly leaves a lot to be desired.

The name's Colbourn, James - yeah, doesn't quite have the same ring to it.
