10 Key Characters Created Specifically For Comic Book Movies

5. Prince Nuada (Hellboy II: The Golden Army)

Like The Mask, Hellboy doesn't really have a particularly recognisable or great rogues gallery - let's be honest, he's not that recognisable to the general public himself - and the people behind his second movie opted for the key villain to be a new named character who just so happened to be played by the same man (Luke Goss) as the last entry in this list. He was Prince Nuada - the crowned prince of the Clan Bethmoora elves and the last of the warrior elves (and a highly skilled one at that). He was present at the creation of the titular Golden Army and, as an anti-humanist, wanted to utilise them to wipe out humanity. This brought him into conflict with Hellboy, who ultimately defeated him. While the movie was a great critical success, Goss' Nuada was actually described by critics as the weak link due to how "unimposing" he was.
