With 919 televised episodes so far, 3 feature length movies, millions of toys sold worldwide and a legacy shared by many ages, the history of the Power Rangers is a storied one to say the least.

Having begun life as repurposed footage from Japanese children's show 'Super Sentai', used solely to sell the next big toy range, no one would have expected that over 25 years later the Power Rangers brand would still be as popular as it is today.

And yet, all this goodwill towards the show and one problem still remains, we have yet to see a Power Rangers movie live up to the spirit of the series. While the original Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers movie seemed to encapsulate the idea of what a Rangers movie should be, it lacked the technology and compelling villain to complete a properly polished movie.

The Turbo Power Rangers movie seemed to rush through its story and while providing the necessary amount of nostalgia, it seemed to lack the heart that the Power Rangers have become known for. The most recent Power Rangers movie, for all of its good intentions, seemed to be a Rangers movie in name only.

With so much established backstory and a universe rich in character it's a wonder that a truly great feature film has not been produced yet. But there are lots of ways to actually make one work...

10. Embrace The Fun

Growing up watching Power Rangers you notice that the episodes always seemed to end with the characters looking at each other or the camera with cheeky, dumb grins on their face showing the audience just how much fun they're having, this is not to say that we need to see that in a new movie.

A modern take on this corny happiness would go a long way into renewing the love felt toward the property, in saying that the comedy that seemed to be so forced in the most recent big screen adaptation should be definitely reconsidered.

The original iterations of the Rangers had some of the best on screen chemistry ever seen with such a large main cast, you believed that they were having moments of fun throughout the good times and the bad.

Spread the fun elements throughout the movie to grant levity in the fun and even the more serious moments just so it doesn't translate into a weird teen drama with elements of trying to be bigger than the popcorn action ride it should be.
