10 Key Elements To Make A Great Power Rangers Movie
9. Don't Rush The Plot
Now this is a hard one, how to establish a villain that would usually arc over multiple hours of programming, while putting a group of teenagers with attitude together and having them finally come together as a unit without making the plot feel rushed? In that format, it's impossible.
Going into a Power Ranger's movie there is a limited audience, most of the people coming to see the movie have at least a vague idea of the backstory, rehashing that backstory over again would be akin to seeing Uncle Ben get shot all over again.
There is no need to go all in on establishing the origin of their powers for the majority of the film, and as for the villain establish them as an all powerful entity off the bat rather than building strength to match the heroes, with all that set in motion the regular two hour run time wouldn't seem so rushed.
Unfortunately, to streamline the run time sacrifices may need to be made. If the plot benefits from reducing secondary plot threads or even reducing the impact of mentor figures then so be it. The core plot of the movie should not be so jarring that it causes whiplash.
