Considering that the Rangers often tangle with minions while not morphed, it's laughable that they wouldn't show explicit violence toward the leads which would be necessary to show increased stakes.

With an M rating, a Power Rangers film could show some blood, a lot more actual fighting and some more humorous moments that don't have to be toned down to suit the rating. Allowing more adult moments in the film would appeal to the original audience, no fan of the original series wants to go and see a movie that does the same as their childhood favourite series, without going a step further.

An M rating would allow for some in world grit, violence and humour that would suit a slightly more mature audience without putting it out of reach of the younger market too.
