4. Who Is Peter Quill's Father?
It was revealed in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie that Peter Quill was taken from Earth by the Ravagers (Yondu et al) in order for him to be delivered to his father, who has been revealed to be an alien, but they never fulfilled their contract to do so. The fact that his father is an alien, of course, means that Quill is half-alien (which explains why his supposedly frail human body was able to withstand the powers of the Orb for so long without simply breaking in to pieces), though we are yet to find out exactly who he is in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We know that, in the comics at least, his father is Json of Spartax the completely human-looking Emperor of the Spartoi Empire - but whether or not that will be the case in this continuity remains to be seen. One thing's for sure, given that his father was expecting him to be delivered to him years ago, he will probably be looking for him Quill, but we will have to wait and see whether or not that's true and who he actually turns out to be. As Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is scheduled for phase three, we fully expect that movie to give us the answer.
