There's a lot to be said for a movie title; it is often the first thing we'll hear about a prospective film, and almost always what will leap out at us (or not) when perusing movie posters at our local cinema. A great movie title instantly grabs us, and though these movie titles are not
awful by comparison, they are most certainly lazy, which is in many ways even worse, as it may suggest to viewers that a similar lack of care has been taken with the project entire. Whether they lazily summarise the film with one word or rip-off another more successful movie, hoping to coast on the same success, these 10 movies didn't exactly inspire audiences to give them a go, and unsurprisingly, the result was almost unanimous critical savagery (albeit with one notable exception, which may or may not be pictured above...) Here are the 10 laziest movie titles in cinema history...
10. Fighting
Well, you can't knock the marketing team for falsely advertising this film which, yes, is very much about fighting and little else. Channing Tatum stars as Sean MacArthur, a street hustler who ends up working for Terrence Howard as a street
fighter, and frankly that's pretty much all you need to know about the plot. Yes, the title lets you know exactly what the film is going to deliver without even needing to watch a trailer, but does such a lazy title really attract anyone to it? It's literally saying, "Don't give a damn about the characters, or anything else - it's all about seeing a pretty man beating men to a pulp for 2 hours". Unsurprisingly, the film was a critical misfire and didn't exactly light up the box office either.
