10 Laziest Movie Titles In Cinema History

6. The Thing (2011)

The Thing The apex of laziness is when you make a prequel to a classic movie, and don't even bother to change the title, which in the case of 2011's The Thing "prequel", caused lots of people to (rightly) assume that it was just a remake, which it basically was anyway. Though there were several prior working titles for the movie such as The Thing: Genesis, The Thing: The Beginning and even The Thing: Thule (referring to the weather station in which the movie is set), they were all deemed too stock...so they opted for...The Thing. It's indicative of the final product's total lack of imagination and intelligence that the filmmakers could not come up with a different title from the original film. It really does reflect the end product, which is basically a remake disguising itself as a sequel anyway; like the titular beast itself, a pale imitation that'll leave you feeling a bit sick.
