10 Least Romantic Movies Ever Released On Valentine's Day
8. Hard To Kill
It’s difficult for modern moviegoers to imagine a Steven Seagal movie being released in time for Valentine’s Day (or even released to theaters), but that’s where the world was at in 1990. Given recent revelations about Seagal’s off-set behavior, his one-note tough guy act is really hard to take.
Pick an action movie cliché and there’s a good chance you’ll see it groan into life during Hard To Kill’s unintentionally amusing 96 minutes. Steve plays tough cop Mason Storm (great porn name) who’s left for dead after uncovering evidence against a corrupt Senator. He isn’t dead, of course, just in a coma (how can they tell?) so after recovering he sets out to snap wrists and throw people through windows.
Steve’s nemesis is played by William Sadler (also the villain in Die Hard 2) whose catchphrase is, “You can take that to the bank”, so of course Steve gets to say, “I’m taking you to the bank, Senator – to the blood bank.”
Wit, wisdom and wrist snapping – what more could you want on Valentine’s Day?
