10 Least Romantic Movies Ever Released On Valentine's Day

7. Friday The 13th (2009)

Silence Of The Lambs Anthony Hopkins
Paramount Pictures

The release date of Friday, February 13th 2009 should’ve gone to the makers of My Bloody Valentine, a remake of a 1980s slasher movie starring an actor from the TV series Supernatural. Instead, it went to the makers of Friday The 13th, a remake of a 1980s slasher starring an actor from the TV series Supernatural.

You have to question the wisdom of the decision because there’s nothing remotely romantic about this reboot. No Valentine’s Day gimmick, no threatening messages inside cards, no hearts being torn out and left in heart-shaped chocolate boxes. It isn’t even in 3D.

Co-produced by Michael Bay, Friday The 13th goes for the lowest common denominator with gratuitous nudity, idiot characters, gratuitous nudity, gory deaths and did you know there’s gratuitous nudity in this sucker? You know you’re watching schlock when a topless bimbo decides to go water skiing while 53-year-old Jason Voorhees watches.
