10 Legendary Directors Who Would Have Made Great James Bond Films

8. Fritz Lang

Fritz Lang Yeesh, this dude even looks like a villain in Bond movie! Fritz Lang was a German Expressionist, at one point nicknamed "The Master of Darkness". He is best known for his groundbreaking 1927 film Metropolis which utilized never before seen special effects. Four years later he made what is considered the precursor to film noir, a film simply titled M (no resemblance to Bond's superior). So what could he have brought to a Bond movie? Easy. He had an eye for sweeping visuals, incredible special effects, and some seriously dark storylines. Also, he had a knack for creating memorable villains, who were often-times incredibly intense and creepy. Eventually he moved into doing English language films, thus qualifying him for this list.
