10 Legendary Movie Villains Who Completely Failed To Deliver

8. Venom - Spider-Man 3

spiderman-3-screencaps-spider-man-32519039-640-304The Legend: Ever since Spider-Man hit the big screen, Spidey fans put Venom at the top of the list of villains they wanted to see him square off against. Venom is a hulking behemoth that starts off knowing Spidey€™s identity, has all of his powers, cancels out his spider sense, can shape shift, and turn invisible. A couple of these would€™ve made Venom an even match for Spider-Man, but all of them? Talk about your overkill. The Failure: Now dig on this. They cast Topher Grace. Not that he€™s a bad actor, but he€™s an epically poor choice for the role. Why would you cast someone who can€™t even intimidate Ashton Kutcher as your fearsome villain? (Maybe they were thinking Justin Bieber for Carnage in Spider-Man 4!) He gets his powers halfway through the movie, aligns himself with the B-list villain lead, kidnaps MJ, and announces it with a mega phone so that Spider-Man can form a plan of attack and recruit allies. There was nothing at all creative there, generic super villain stuff, through and through.
