10. Thom Yorke & Jonny Greenwood (Radiohead) - Guy Pearce & Cillian Murphy
The Premise: Radiohead release one of the most critically-acclaimed albums ever and have the world at their feet. They embark on a horribly depressing tour and follow up their huge hit with the greatest reinvention since the Beatles started writing their own songs. Oxfordian alternative-rockers Radiohead could have been the biggest band in the world, as their third album, 1997's 'OK Computer', became huge across the globe. The story of why the band turned their backs on becoming bigger, in favour becoming better, is an incredible tale; it was the focus of the documentary 'Meeting People Is Easy', but it would certainly make a sensational drama, too. Australian Guy Pearce could portray the seemingly shy, yet driven frontman Thom Yorke; this is a man sick with fame, leading a revolution in his band, and given Pearce's role as Peter Weyland in Prometheus, he could certainly lead the other main four actors with an authoritative performance. Perhaps more interesting than Yorke, though, the enigmatic, ageless guitarist Jonny Greenwood, obsessed with left-field music, constantly pushing himself as a musician, and an almost perfect fit for Cillian Murphy. The dynamic between the two is the stuff of dreams. And if this film ever took off, the real-life Greenwood could provide the music; after all, he's scored the likes of There Will Be Blood and Norwegian Wood.
