10 Legitimate Criticisms Of The Dark Knight Rises

1. Where€™s The Woman I Left Behind Two Minutes Ago?

Miranda This is the biggie. The only plot hole in Rises that is really, truly unavoidable. When Bruce returns to Gotham, he hatches a plan with Selina Kyle. He fakes getting captured, meeting up with both Lucius Fox and Miranda Tate, before having Kyle spring him and Fox, leaving the latter behind. Once he€™s in full Batman gear and created his logo on the bridge, Bane muses that he€™ll come for his one night stand. Bit odd given how he had the opportunity to free her and didn't, but oh well - keep going movie. Then, a moment after Bane€™s confusing line, Batman asks Gordon, €œWhere€™s Miranda Tate?€ What? Bruce was with her a few hours ago and is now asking where she is. Why would Gordon, a man who left the court before Bruce arrived know? Please don€™t say Batman€™s trying to hide his identity with unnecessary misdirection because I don€™t buy it at all. There€™s clearly a subplot of some form here that was mostly cut, but had to remain to some degree for bigger scenes to make sense; Marion Cotillard was in every take of the Fox escape, so she had to stay in or something technical like that. I noticed this on a repeat viewing of the film and every time I've watched it since it always jars. Now you can feel my pain.
