10 Lesser Known Film Fan Theories That Might Actually Be True

1. Bill Isn't Dead - Kill Bill Volume 2

The Theory: Beatrix (Uma Thuman) actually doesn't kill Bill (David Carradine) with the Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique she appears to execute at the climax of the movie. Why It Might Be True:Redditor jordanlund has gone into crazy detail about his reasoning: we never seen the Pai Mei teach Beatrix the technique and when Bill asks her if the Pai Mei taught her the technique she says "Of course he did" but shakes her head; as Beatrix's motherly instinct develops throughout Kill Bill 2 she becomes more averse to killing; she appears to hit Bill with six touches rather than five implying she faked the attack; Bill seems to take six steps rather than five before "dying" (suggesting he is playing along and reflecting her lie); when Beatrix says "Thank you" to thin air at the end of the movie she is possibly thanking Bill for playing along; when we see Bill again in the credits his body has moved, and in the final black-and-white credits, his name isn't crossed out like all the other characters Beatrix has killed. But Why It Probably Isn't: It makes sense that Tarantino wouldn't show Beatrix being taught the technique because it would drain the impact out of the audience seeing it at the end of the movie, and it's not terribly convincing that Bill would have a change of heart about killing her considering how evidently aware he is of his own violent nature, and how unrepentant he seems.
