7. Obadiah Stane Was A Member Of Hydra - Iron Man

The Theory: Tony Stark's (Robert Downey Jr) mentor Obadiah Stane (Jeff Bridges) is not merely a duplicitous douche but in fact a member of Hydra. Why It Might Be True: Moviepilot state that after Howard Stark is killed, Stane becomes Stark Industries' manager, so there was a vested interest for him to conspire to have Stark killed, and in return could provide Hydra with access to Stark technology. Stane also sold Stark weaponry to the Ten Rings to perpetuate the fear needed for Hydra, who of course we find out in The Winter Soldier had infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D. decades prior, to unleash their Project Insight initiative. But Why It Probably Isn't: Marvel producer Kevin Feige has admitted that they didn't have the "S.H.I.E.L.D. is Hydra" twist ready until fairly recently, so it almost certainly wasn't a totally deliberate creative choice, but it would be easy to draw the dots in a future movie and confirm it for everyone.
