10 Lesser Known Movies To Look Forward To In 2017
8. I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore
Despite having a title that sounds like it could be the name of Earl Sweatshirt’s next album or an angsty teenage Tumblr account, I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore has the ingredients to be one of the must see dark comedies of the year.
The directorial debut of Macon Blair, the
brilliant Blue Ruin protagonist, it stars Elijah Wood and the ever-watchable
Melanie Lynsky in an ennui riddled film concerning the overbearing sense of
ineptitude everybody except Warren Beatty feels from time to time.
Spiralling into depression following a burglary, a depressed woman and her nunchuck loving neighbour try to find some semblance of justice by tracking down said thieves and retrieving their goods only to wind up in a situation that’s a little above their pay grade. A Netflix original, I Don’t Feel At Home In This World Anymore seems like it will have the darkly violent and comic aspects of Sightseers or maybe even Fargo for all you grownups out there.
All that aside, it’ll just be interesting to see if Macon Blair is a good behind the camera as he is in front of it.
