5. Show Me Love (1998)
A 90's Swedish lesbian movie with no nudity might be a hard sell, but this movie is so endearing it's hard not to like. Show Me Love follows two teenage girls, Elin (Alexandra Dahlström) who is the beautiful popular girl at school and Agnes (Rebecka Liljeberg) who is depressed and has no friends. Agnes is secretly in love with Elin and Elin has no idea Agnes exists. The movie follows the delicate and terrifying process of exposing yourself in order to get the person you love. The movie is the timeless story of yearning for that unattainable person. Wanting that person who is so beautiful that you can barely speak around them. But you also see something beyond their physical appearance and are enamored with the person they are. The problem is that for whatever reason you know that you can never, ever be together, yet, you still yearn. This movie is an honest and funny look at that first young lust that haunts our teenage years.
