10 Lesser Known Romantic Comedies (That Guys Can Watch)

4. Fever Pitch (1997)

I'm not talking about the one with Jimmy Fallon and Drew Barrymore about the Red Socks. This is the 1997 adaptation of Nick Hornby's memoir and remains in England with the original team, Arsenal. Paul (Colin Firth) is a teacher in his mid-thirties who is completely in love. His love and devotion know no end. If he were asked to kill, he'd do it. Oh. Then he gets a girlfriend and they have a baby. Paul, of course, loves football, specifically Arsenal. Sarah (Ruth Gemmell) really does not like soccer and wants Paul to focus more on home life. All these problems collide as Arsenal has a chance to win a championship for the first time in 18 years. This movie is great because it's a romance movie about the love of sports! Well, that and romantic love, but a lot of it revolves around football. It's about growing up and the difficulties of changing from an individual into a couple and finally into a family. This movie is great for anyone who loves sports or a team as much as you love a person.
