10 Lessons Batman Vs. Superman Can Learn From Superman: The Animated Series

9. Establishing A Character Dynamic Between Clark, Lois & Bruce

At the end of Man of Steel, we are introduced to reporter Clark Kent. The relationship between Lois and Clark in this new film series is unlike anything we have seen before (as she is aware of him being Superman). A great way to contribute to their relationship is to provide some tension in the form of a rival for Lois' affections: Bruce Wayne. In Superman: TAS, Bruce Wayne asks out Lois immediately upon arrival in Metropolis, which creates an interesting character dynamic between himself, Clark, Lois, and their alter egos. Ultimately the heroes realize that she is attracted to different parts of each of them (Superman and Bruce Wayne). The key difference here is that Lois is unaware of Clark's secret identity, which would be a key difference for the new film. Expanding on this love triangle of sorts would help to develop both the relationship between Lois and Clark but also show the contrasts between the two heroes.
