10 Lessons Batman Vs. Superman Can Learn From Superman: The Animated Series
4. How To Utilize Lex Luthor
Lex Luthor will be played by Jesse Eisenberg in the new film, which suggests a younger version of the character will be featured. It should be clear for the filmmakers to make Lex the main antagonist for this new movie, as his wealth and position in society place him at great odds with Henry Cavill's Superman. In Superman: TAS, Lex is portrayed as a suave businessman who can put on a face for the public but is willing to get his hands dirty when needs be. In the series, he is presented as a person who has - as the Joker puts it - "built half of Metropolis." He is viewed as a leader and is respected by people in society. As mentioned previously, the wealth of Lexcorp could be used to rebuild Metropolis and create jobs (perhaps with some Wayne Enterprises assistance). This also creates a moral dilemma, as the people of Metropolis begin to trust Lex, who could create greater fear, antagonism and paranoia towards Superman.
