3. Acknowledging The Differences In Strength

The argument between who would win in a fight between Bats and Supes is ridiculous in principle. Superman has a lot of superpowers, while Batman has none. Without any time for preparation, Batman would be defeated fairly quickly. In Superman: TAS, the first meeting between Superman and Batman establishes this character dynamic very subtly. Batman surprises Superman by flipping him over a table - to which Superman responds by sending Batman into a wall with a quick body check. The story builds upon the different skills these characters have, and they discover through collaboration how to work together. This is exemplified in the ways they learn of each other's secret identities. While Superman simply uses X-Ray vision to see through Bruce's mask, Batman has to plant a tracer on Clark and follow him home. This character dynamic should be established in the new film - not to show how much stronger Superman is, but rather how different each character is from the other.
