10 Lessons Batman Vs. Superman Can Learn From Superman: The Animated Series
2. No Versus!
The potential titles and the quote from The Dark Knight Returns (DKR) which is inspiring this film have me worried that this movie will focus on the antagonism between the two heroes. The Avengers had scenes where the heroes fought each other, but they were for the most part on equal ground. While it was cool to see the fight from DKR animated (I recommend that 2 part animated film), that should not be the focus of a film starring these two superheroes. As mentioned previously, their skill sets are so different that unless Batman has developed a specific strategy or Superman is somehow de-powered, there is no contest as to who would win a fight. In Superman: TAS, the conflict between Superman and Batman was played out with words (their first meeting being an exception). They argued over each other's methods, their respective sanities, their relationships with Lex and Lois, and their mutual skepticism of each other. It wasn't really until the final fight that the two heroes finally started working together. This should be how any conflict between the two characters should be portrayed in the new film.
