10 Likeable Actors Who Need to Play Psychopaths

7. Jason Statham

This one would be an interesting turnaround, for though Jason Statham almost always plays the anti-hero, he has only played an out-and-out villain in one notable film - 2004's surprisingly entertaining thriller Cellular. Some might say that a mad baddie would be a ripe fit for the actor, given that some of his hero roles - chiefly the dementedly funny Chev Chelios in the Crank franchise - are pretty damn crazy already, and it's something he has perfected. But imagine Statham as a completely joyless villain, not played tongue-in-cheek, but taking that sly roguish charm and transforming it into something truly dark and disturbing. I have this feeling that if Statham decided to branch out a bit, he could surprise us all with a genuine break-out performance that might make us realise there's more to him than meets the eye. He has the intensity, so someone should give him a shot, if he's willing.
