Ever since The Amazing Spider-Man rendered Raimis Spidey-verse obsolete, one question has burned in the minds of webheads: How could you possible follow J K Simmons near-faultless portrayal of the Daily Bugles moustachioed mouth J Jonah Jameson? Marc Webbs answer so far has been to avoid the subject entirely by leaving this most integral character out of the proceedings. A better solution would be: Cast De Niro. One of New Yorks most famous sons, De Niro has all the attributes needed to play J Jonah, you just have to imagine him in Meet The Parents mode and youre a moustache and a flat-top away from having your angry editor. Having de Niro in the role isnt that much of a stretch considering some of the choices he has made in recent years and it cant hurt to involve an actor of his standing in a franchise that just cant seem to truly capture the publics imagination. Another comic book role De Niro would be a great choice for would be Wolverine in an adaptation of Old Man Logan but its difficult to imagine Fox going that route when they can just as easily have a greyed up Jackman.
As well as the odd article, I apply my "special mind" to scriptwriting for Comics, Films and Games... Oh and I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flow'rs, I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars.
