10 A-List Actors Yet To Appear In A Comic Book Movie (And Who They Could Play)

2. Tom Cruise: The Vulture

Now hear this one out! Tom Cruise has always been more interesting when taking on darker characters like Lestat and Frank from Magnolia, despite this though, unlike DiCaprio he is still yet to take on a character that could truly be described as a villain. Lestat is the closest he has come. During various stages in Watchmen€™s pre-production history he was mentioned as a possible candidate for Adrian Veidt/Ozymandias. This is a casting idea which would have made perfect sense. Veidt is the poster boy in the Watchmen universe, to have an actor of Cruise€™s status playing the role would have meant his eventual reveal as the villain would have had the gravitas it was meant to for those unfamiliar with the source. What makes him a good choice for Vulture is he a great deal older than Andrew Garfield, and although online fan casting of the character has thrown up names like Larry David (who does bear a striking likeness) it€™s more likely that the producers will skew younger but not too young. It would also be a chance to see him polish off the bald-cap worn to such great effect in Tropic Thunder.
