10 A-List Actors Yet To Appear In A Comic Book Movie (And Who They Could Play)

6. Brad Pitt: Alan Scott (Golden Age Green Lantern)

In a way you could say that Brad Pitt has already appeared in a comic book movie, or rather a comic book themed one, with his appearance in 1991€™s Cool World. However Cool World wasn€™t based on an existing comic book property so he still qualifies. With a lot of the actors on this list you tend to feel that there is good reason they haven€™t appeared in a comic book movie, they€™re either just too recognisable or for some reason or other a difficult fit for the genre. Brad falls into that category, and as such is one of the hardest to cast. He was discussed as a potential Batman when Darren Aronofsky was going to make Year One, but since then his name has rarely been connected to the genre. The closest he has come in the past to that type of roe was his appearance in World War Z. One interesting possibility for him would be the original Green Lantern Alan Scott. The appearance of this character could work in the new DCU, as there are obviously going to be attempts to move GL as far away from the Ryan Reynolds portrayal as possible. Scott€™s inclusion could work in a similar way to how Marvel are seemingly going to use Michael Douglas as Hank Pym. It seems fitting imagining Brad Pitt in that kind of torch passing superhero role, a somewhat glorified cameo but an integral role all the same.
