Laura Kinney may have already appeared in 'Logan', but what kind of self-respecting X-Men team doesn't need an adamantium-clawed badass on it?
The heir to the Wolverine throne, X-23 could become the next major breakout character in the MCU, having the same impact as Captain Marvel is currently enjoying. With plenty of spin-off potential and merchandise marketability, if handled right she could prove to be a huge financial success for the House of Mouse.
If they decide to keep a younger base as a jump-off point for the X-Men then the story where Jean is kidnapped by the Shi'ar and the others have to go save her would be a great one to see. The fact that there is a potential team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy wouldn't hurt their bottom-line either. Imagine Drax and Laura, side by side, kicking the bejesus out of anyone that gets in their way - that would be worth the price of admission alone!
Then there's the fact that someone has to take over the Wolverine mantle, as it's near impossible to think that Marvel would let that cash cow die. With no Hugh Jackman, X-23 would be a perfect replacement.
