5. Why Does Albus Dumbledore Leave The Baby Potter With A Family That Will Just Abuse Him For 11 Years?
Has nobody at Hogwarts heard of a background check for child protection? Whoever was head of Pastoral care at the time should have been sacked. Dumbledore leaves the most important child of the wizarding world at the doorstep of a family that lock him in a cupboard for 11 years. Surely there was somewhere else - somewhere safer - that he could have left him? I know he wanted to keep him as far from magic as possible but subjecting him to the Dursley treatment was a little unnecessary was it not? What about Granger's folks? They seemed like thoroughly decent people. Hell, even Arabella Figg would have treated him better than that! All I'm saying, is that its a pretty d*ckish move on Dumbledore's part. But who knows, maybe he saw it as a pre-Wizard Boot Camp that Harry had to survive if he had any chance of defeating the Dark Lord!
