10 Major Comic Book Conflicts We Expect To See In Future Marvel Movies
6. Loki Vs Asgard (Siege)
Siege was a story in which Asgard was now located floating above Broxton, Oklahoma - and that's one aspect of the plot that would either have to be scrapped or have already occurred in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in order for this story to appear on screen. That said, regardless, it would be awesome to see. The arc depicted Loki manipulating Norman Osborn (who had become the United States primary defence officer and who would have to be replaced by another Earth-based villain - Kingpin, perhaps) into leading an all-out assault on Asgard in order to ultimately gain power himself. Captain America and his own Avengers lead a rebellion against Osborn while the battle escalates. Seeing an army of villains and manipulated heroes (like Sentry, who would be awesome to see in the Marvel Cinematic Universe), manipulated by Loki into attacking Asgard en masse would be absolutely awesome - and the climax of the battle, which saw Loki realising he'd caused too much chaos and sacrificing himself in the battle against Sentry's evil alter-ego the Void - would be nothing short of spectacular on screen. An awful lot would have to be altered from the comic book arc and there'd have to be a number of changes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe before it was ready to play host to this arc, but seeing Asgardian forces, the heroes of Earth and the villains of Earth embroiled in a massive battle on Asgard (preferably with it located above Earth, but not essentially) would be amazing.
