7. Cosmic Heroes Vs The Phalanx (Annihilation: Conquest)

Annihilation: Conquest is a really cool story set in space that includes a number of heroic characters who already exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and a number who are set to appear in the future.

It could potentially serve as a great Guardians of the Galaxy sequel now that one has been confirmed, as the arc features characters like Star-Lord, Gamora, Groot and Rocket Raccoon fighting against the Phalanx.

Midway through the story, the Phalanx Technarchy€™s primary director is revealed to be Avengers villain Ultron - who is of course the lead villain in next year's Avengers sequel - who is leading them in their quest to assimilate the universe and grow their army.

Having Ultron be defeated by the Avengers in the Age of Ultron movie, only to later be revealed as having headed off in to space, found himself a powerful new army and set his sights on the universe would be an awesome plot and having the Guardians of the Galaxy step up to fight the new threat would be great - and including other cosmic heroes from the comic arc in the movie, like Adam Warlock, Moondragon and Quasar, would be absolutely awesome.
