Next year's Fantastic Four reboot is hardly making comic book fans breathless with excitement. The last attempt at a movie franchise with Marvel's oldest superhero group spearheading it was a disaster - a cheesy, colossal disaster - and Julian McMahon's Doctor Doom was arguably the worst part about it. This time around, a lower-profile cast are hoping to surprise us and Toby Kebbell is tasked with making Doctor Doom more worthy of sharing a name with his comic book counterpart - but it could have been very different. Fox were toying with the idea of making Doctor Doom female - and we're extremely glad they didn't because that would have doomed (no pun intended) from the start, such is the nature of comic book fans.
