10 Major Concept Changes That Almost Happened In Comic Book Movies
7. Doctor Doom Was Almost Serpent-Esq With A Mechanical Arm
Everyone knows all too well that Julian McMahon's Doctor Doom was terrible - but, to be fair, he didn't actually look too bad. Prior to his casting in the last Fantastic Four franchise as the titular group's arch-nemesis, however, Nicolas Cage was set to portray the iconic Marvel villain (yeah, we know, Nicolas Cage pops up absolutely everywhere). When Cage was still in line to take the role, concept artist Constantine Sekeris produced some art for Cage's Doom which showed him looking very, very different. The face was almost feminine, his body was scaly like a reptile and one of his arms was completely mechanical. In a sense, despite the horrible final product, we're actually relieved we got the Doom we got instead of this monstrosity.
