10 Major Issues Surrounding The Justice League Movie
6. Batman Vs. Superman Could Become An Afterthought
With all the buzz surrounding the announcement of the Justice League movie, let's not forget that we need to get the Man of Steel sequel out of the way first. It seems strange that the movie still doesn't have an official title given the imminent start of principal photography, and there is a real chance that the focus on Justice League could ultimately harm the movie. Think along the lines of Iron Man 2; a sequel to a blockbuster superhero origin story that served merely as a placeholder and focused more on establishing the wider mythology and foreshadowing coming events that acting as a self-contained movie. Seeing as Batman Vs. Superman is both a sequel to Man of Steel, a cinematic reboot for Batman and a direct lead-in to the biggest superhero movie outside of The Avengers, the project is in danger of collapsing under its own weight. As well as introducing Ben Affleck's Caped Crusader, along with Jeremy Irons' Alfred, the movie also needs to focus just as much on Henry Cavill's Clark Kent, who at the end of Man of Steel had just taken a job at the Daily Planet. This means the movie needs to set up the conflict between the characters, integrate Lex Luthor into the story, continue Clark's relationship with Lois Lane and interactions with Perry White, while also bringing Wonder Woman, Cyborg and possibly others into the fold in order to sufficiently set up the world of Justice League by the time the credits roll. With all this going on, the two iconic superheroes could be in danger of being overshadowed in their own movie.
I don't do social media, so like or follow me in person but please maintain a safe distance or the authorities will be notified. Don't snap me though, I'll probably break. I was once labelled a misogynist on this very site in a twenty paragraph-long rant for daring to speak ill of the Twilight franchise. I stand by what I said, it's crap.
