10 Major Problems With Zack Snyder’s Justice League
8. Cyborg Let His Father Die
As mentioned in the previous entry, Cyborg’s powers, which allow him to be connected to all machinery all over the world, are explained to him and the audience through a tape recording of Silas. Unfortunately, this raises a very serious problem concerning Silas’ sacrifice.
When the reanimation of Superman results in the Mother Box landing near Silas, he takes it to his lab and prepares to fire a laser capable of reaching temperatures of 3.5 million kelvin at the Mother Box in what appears to be an attempt to destroy it. Cyborg then arrives outside the room his father is locked in but can only watch and scream in horror as the laser kills him and leaves the Mother Box unharmed.
The problem with this scene is that Cyborg, being connected to all machinery, does not turn the laser off and save his father. What is worse is that his scream gives away the fact that he knows what the machine can do and still does nothing to prevent it. An argument could be made that he was too panicked or emotional to react, but the fact of the matter is that he had the power to do more and did nothing.
