10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters We Wouldn't Mind Being Recast

3. Vin Diesel As Vision

Vis 0

Vin Diesel has signed on to pretty much say "I am Groot" in a variety of ways, and (possibly) to have his face motion captured for the Guardians of the Galaxy film. This is pretty much a waste. The voice of Groot could easily be handled by a variety of talented voice over artists. Even with the possibility of an actor needing to be MoCap'd, this could be accomplished perfectly by Clancy Brown. Vin Diesel would be best utilized in a future film as Vision. I know, there are a myriad of Easter eggs and foreshadowing (especially in this past weeks AGENTS OF SHIELD episode) hinting that Coulson might actually be an android of some sort; with many communities on the internet speculating he will be Vision. Diesel would be wasted for merely a few lines of dialogue repeated with variable inflections throughout the film. Where as Clark Gregg, who is a great personality as Coulson, doesn't really fit the profile for Vision at all. He would potentially turn the character into a campy and idiotic portrayal of Vision. Personally, I'd almost hope Coulson himself is what eventually becomes Ultron, so that Vision is opened up for someone else to play; with James Spader being cast to voice Ultron, it would be an interesting shock and turn of events to see this transformation occur on screen (regardless of how far fetched this random thought sounds like). But that is borderline fanboy flights of fancy, and I try not to subscribe to such thoughts.

I'm a writer, a published author, and editor for a small independent publishing house. I'm an award winning producer of independent media, and I get to edit books, screenplays, and comics in my day to day. I love working on independent film & games, during my down time, as well as reviewing films while gobbling down milk duds (it's an addiction, I know). I've been called "Geek-Prime" among my peers for all the fandoms I work in, and I wear that title proudly. It's a passion, and an exercise in my growing profession, to get to write about what I love. Which happens to be a little of everything. But mostly film, comics, horror, games, anime, literature, and life. I do write about academic material, like politics, medicine, physics, and mathematics too. But for the most part, I like to keep things down to earth and simple. Follow me on Twitter & Facebook
