10 Marvel Cinematic Universe Characters We Wouldn't Mind Being Recast

2. Aaron Taylor Thomas As Quicksilver

Quick 0

This is another recast alteration outside of the norm in terms of the suggestion. One of the biggest issues we all face as comic book fans is simply the fact that, to survive, our favorite comic book studios sold licensing rights to other studios. This was done so long ago that many of the rights that exist with certain 3rd party studios are being held extremely tight. Like 20th Century Fox holding onto Spider-Man for dear life. The same goes for the X-Men and Wolverine franchises. All properties that Marvel wants to regain and control directly again. One of the issues we see as a result of this ongoing problem in our fandom; two actors cast in the same role for two different films.

The suggestion here being made is simple; while two studios are making two different films, why not communicate a direction or a vision with each other. Collaboration between the studios would in effect bring about a better product, and possibly more powerful film entries. Aaron Taylor Thomas is playing Pietro Maximoff in the next Avengers film, which will occur after Days of Future Past, where Evan Peters, will play the fleet footed Son of Magneto. Thomas is a stronger candidate for the role, with closer features to the comic book character (visibly from a point of view of a much younger version of Quicksilver). Not to mention, that there is a closer resemblance to the characters father on film, Ian Mckellen, which is not part of the MCU. Pity.

I'm a writer, a published author, and editor for a small independent publishing house. I'm an award winning producer of independent media, and I get to edit books, screenplays, and comics in my day to day. I love working on independent film & games, during my down time, as well as reviewing films while gobbling down milk duds (it's an addiction, I know). I've been called "Geek-Prime" among my peers for all the fandoms I work in, and I wear that title proudly. It's a passion, and an exercise in my growing profession, to get to write about what I love. Which happens to be a little of everything. But mostly film, comics, horror, games, anime, literature, and life. I do write about academic material, like politics, medicine, physics, and mathematics too. But for the most part, I like to keep things down to earth and simple. Follow me on Twitter & Facebook
