The Marvel Cinematic Universe has recently expanded in to the cosmos with the release of the space epic Guardians of the Galaxy. It was one of the most popular movies of the summer of 2014 and it surprised a lot of people who thought it would never work. The movie saw the introduction of a large number of characters more weird and wonderful than anything we've seen in a Marvel movie before, as talking raccoons, walking trees, green aliens and cocktail-drinking ducks took centre stage. We also saw the hollowed-out severed head of a giant, ancient Celstial being used as galactic stop-off point, indicating the introduction of some truly powerful characters in the future. The possibilities for future movies, therefore, are now almost endless and have expanded dramatically.
