5. The Fault Opens
Thanos' existence in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could potentially lead to a number of epic stories from the comic book being adapted for the big screen - and one of those is The Thanos Imperative. The story revolved around The Fault - a rift in space-time, beyond which lies the universe known as the Cancerverse a universe where death itself is extinct. In the arc, monstrous creatures emerge from it and they are revealed to be alternate versions of existing characters who are plagued by life in the Cancerverse (named as such because life runs rampant like cancer) and seeing the Fault open on screen would be awesome as audiences anticipated the coming of the Cancerverse beings. An epic battle between the original heroes and their Cancerverse counterparts would ensue and Thanos would have to get involved again. Given that he didn't die in the Infinity Gauntlet story in the comics, he may well survive the third Avengers movie and this could become a distinct possibility.
